ACORN on Steroids
Obama has a stealth initiative to give large sums of money to ACORN in order to cement his eight years as President. ACORN helped Obama win the election, and ACORN was the Community Organization that Obama worked for as Community Organizer. Let’s face it, Obama was birthed out of the Chicago political machine. The good old take care of your donors and political friends takes precedent over what is good for the nation as a whole. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to understand how Obama has included ACORN in his so called stimulus plan. I say so called because the Government GAO office has already concluded that most of the stimulus won’t even be released into the economy until 2010. By the way, 2010 is an election year if you haven’t noticed. Obama wants the the stimulus plan passed ASAP so that no one will have a chance to understand what is in the stimulus bill.
Within the stimulus is a $4 billion earmark for Community Organizations such as ACORN. It is described as the community development fund, but the reality is this is earmarked for ACORN.

… such funds and would not be inconsistent with the overall purpose of the statute. For a further additional amount for ‘‘Community Development Fund’’, $4,190,000,000, to be used for neighborhood stabilization activities related to emergency assistance for the redevelopment of abandoned and foreclosed homes as authorized under division B, title III of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008‘‘Community Development Fund’’, $4,190,000,000, to be used for neighborhood stabilization activities related to emergency assistance for the redevelopment of abandoned and foreclosed homes as authorized under division B, title III of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (Public Law 110–289), of which— (1) not less than $3,440,000,000 shall be allocated by a competition for which eligible entities shall be States, units of general local government, and nonprofit entities or consortia of nonprofit entities: Provided, That the award criteria for such competition shall include grantee capacity, leveraging potential, targeted impact of foreclosure prevention, and any additional factors determined by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development: Provided further, that the Secretary may establish a minimum grant size…
The interesting part is that $4 billion was already provided to state and local governments in the 2008 stimulus. You see the funds were going to state and local governments and not to non-profit organizations. As a result, Obama needed to make provisions for non profits such as ACORN in the stimulus.
House Democrats 1/15/09 Committee Report, Page 73:
Neighborhood Stabilization Program Recovery Funding: $4.19 billion Nearly $4 billion was provided for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program through the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. This funding was provided to local governments and States with high levels of foreclosures as a way for the local community to purchase and rehabilitate this vacant housing.
How is Obama tied to ACORN? Well he worked for ACORN as a community organizer. Even more interesting and under reported is that Obama acted as a lawyer suing banks to force them to make ninja loans under the Community Reinvestment Act. ACORN is notorious for voter fraud and worked with the Obama campaign to get out the vote for Obama.
ACORN clearly worked to get Obama into office. In fact 8 weeks before the election, the Obama campaign sent out e-mail asking supporters if they wanted to be trained to be community organizers like Obama. Day camps were set up to train them in order to get out the vote at the grass roots level.
The unsolicited pitch goes like this: “Camp Obama attendees will receive real world organizing experience that will have a direct impact on this election. Graduates of Camp Obama will go on to become Deputy Field Organizers who will lead this campaign to victory in crucial battleground states around the country.”
The letter continues, “By participating in Camp Obama you’ll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, where he learned that real change happens from the bottom up.”
While the letter neglects to identify the source of that “experience,” a slide on a camp blog linked to the Obama Web site offers a clue. Underneath a “Welcome to Camp Obama” banner, a trainer at Obama headquarters in Chicago is seen speaking next to a wipe board with the words “Saul Alinsky” scrawled across it.
Alinsky is the late Chicago socialist and street agitator who is considered the father of community organizing.
Now put this in context that Obama said he has created his “Organizing for America” non-profit organization.
“Though the plan still is emerging, one source with knowledge of the internal discussion said the organization could have an annual budget of $75 million in privately raised funds. Another said it would deploy hundreds of paid staff members — possibly one for every congressional district in certain politically important states and even more in larger battlegrounds such as Florida, Ohio, Colorado, Virginia and North Carolina…”
ACORN and Obama’s Organizing for America is the most bold power grab for the Presidency seen since Nixon. We will be lucky if we have a fair and honest election in 2012. This is ACORN on steroids no doubt about it and an insurance policy to make sure Obama has eight years in office.
Here is Obama saying that ACORN will shape his presidential agenda:
