Arlen Specter – Who Cares?
I’m glad Arlen is gone. We don’t need you, Arlen. Obviously Arlen has no principles. When we need him the most to help stop the Socialist agenda of the left, he caves for his own political interest. Forget about the US and what is best for this great nation. If you can’t stand up for me and other Conservative Republicans against the tyranny of Socialism that is fast transforming this nation, then be gone. You voted for Obama’s wasteful stimulus bill. We need you to stand with the other Republicans, but no you are weak. Obama’s stimulus was a joke. The stimulus along with his budget has just made the deficits in this country quadruple. Listen to Dr. Munger, an economist from Duke University, explain just how bad the Obama stimulus and his budget is for America.
“Deficits are future tax increases.” – Dr. Mike Munger, Economics Professor Duke University
Dr. Munger is a Libertarian who also is an Economics professor at Duke University. He explains in a simple manner what the tea parties are about. I keep hearing give Obama a chance. Well I did, and I read his first bill. The stimulus was a $850 billion load of crap as Dr. Munger explains it. Reading his first bill is ALL I needed to know about Obama. At the last minute protectionist measures that could put us into a depression were put back in. Loosening these measures were based on Republicans dissent in the House. At the last minute they were put back in the Senate version. Other lovely items that have nothing to do with stimulus such as repealing all welfare reforms from Clinton and the Republicans in the 1990’s were put in also. Obama is not being transparent. The taxes that will come because of Obama’s reckless spending will severely limit the standard of living of all Americans.
From Investor’s Business Daily:
As a Democrat, Sen. Specter will now be Washington’s king power broker, since he is poised to be the 60th vote for Democrats in the U.S. Senate, constituting a filibuster-proof majority at a time when the federal government is undergoing an unprecedented expansion in size and power. No one is falling for Specter’s hand-wringing rationale that “since my election in 1980, as part of the Reagan Big Tent, the Republican Party has moved far to the right.” He was just as uncomfortable with Reaganism back then as he is now, all along relishing his role as RINO — Republican In Name Only — whose vote was up for sale. From HotAir:
I’ll take exception to both the “catastrophe” and the idea that we lost any influence in Congress at all. First, Specter made it clear with his vote on Porkulus that he didn’t intend to stand for much of anything — except Arlen Specter. Republicans had been steamrolled on Porkulus, locked out of negotiations first by Nancy Pelosi and then by Barack Obama, who told Republicans, “I won.” Had Specter held firm on Porkulus, he would have forced Democrats to compromise on the stimulus package — and many Republicans wanted a reason to throw money at their constituents, but in a somewhat more effective manner. Instead, Specter back-doored his caucus, and then convinced Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins to do the same.
